Three Corners — Vero Beach, Florida
Location
Vero Beach, FL
Project type
A waterfront commons for an inclusive, introspective Vero Beach
At Vero Beach’s Three Corners site, SūDā is helping shape an open, wellness-forward waterfront commons that reconnects the entire community to the Indian River Lagoon. The vision is to create a place that is aesthetically beautiful, economically vibrant, environmentally sensitive, and fully accessible to all of Vero Beach—balancing nature, recreation, entertainment, environmental education, and culture on one continuous waterfront.
Guided by the city’s objectives, the Waterfront Commons is conceived as a place of community, sociability, and life; a place of architectural and landscape beauty; and a place of authenticity, knowledge, and human potential. It is designed for conscious deceleration: a waterfront where residents and visitors can nourish and repair, reflect, and experience a renewed “sense and sensibility” about their relationship to the lagoon and to one another.
Programming and design center on four core values: ensuring inclusivity and connectivity, cultivating community, fostering holistic well-being, and honoring Vero Beach’s historic waterfront. This translates into multimodal access to the water, equitable services and experiences for all ages, and spaces that nourish body, mind, and ecology—from shaded promenades and gathering lawns to learning spaces focused on the Indian River Lagoon ecosystem.
In Three Corners, SūDā’s role is to be a vessel for Vero Beach’s history, community, and environment—channeling them into a thoughtfully composed public realm that brings new vitality to the waterfront while protecting the lagoon for generations to come.
