The Bay Harbor Continental represents an early, formative expression of the philosophy that would later become SuDā. In 2014, shortly after relocating from New York to Miami, SuDā founder Gaurav Butani began searching for undervalued pockets of potential across the city. That search led him to the Bay Harbor Continental, a stunning waterfront site overlooking the Bal Harbour Yacht Club and Haulover Inlet.

At the time, the prevailing wisdom held that Bay Harbor Islands was “not the right neighborhood” for a premium, design-forward project. Unit prices did not appear to support such development, even though the property sat just a stone’s throw from ultra-exclusive Bal Harbour and enjoyed extraordinary views and access. The site had been overlooked for years by some of the market’s most sophisticated players.

Recognizing the intrinsic value of the location—its waterfront position, proximity to Bal Harbour, and long-term growth potential—Gaurav partnered with the iconic Italian design house Pininfarina, introducing the brand’s first design collaboration in Bay Harbor Islands. Through careful visioning, entitlements, and a strategic acquisition process, the project that ultimately rose on the site helped reset expectations for what Bay Harbor Islands could be as a residential destination.

For SuDā, Bay Harbor Continental stands as an early proof point: a demonstration that thoughtful, design-led investment can unlock hidden potential, shift market perception, and elevate an entire neighborhood.
